We are in a series of messages titled, “Is He Worthy?” The point of the series is for us to examine the question, “Should we trust Jesus as our Savior and Lord?” When choosing whether or not to follow someone we want to know what the person is like. Matthew 9: 9 – 13 tells what happened shortly after Jesus invited a tax collector by the name of Matthew to follow Him. Matthew had a big party and invited his friends to come and meet Jesus. During the party some religious leaders showed up and expressed their repulsion for Jesus based upon the company He accepted. Jesus’ response to the religious leaders says a great deal about his love and concern for those who are far from God. The titled of this message is, “Transforming Love.”
