When we meet people from the same family we tend to look for the family resemblance. We expect to find some indication that people from the same family are related. The resemblance may have to do with the way that they look or the way they act. We expect to find these common traits because parents pass on part of who they are to their children. The family of God is no different. We look at the children of God the Father and expect to see character traits that only He can pass on to his children. For this reason, we should ask ourselves, “What do I want to pass on to the next generation?” This week’s sermon is “Like Father Like Son,” from 1 Samuel 17: 55- 58.
