Throughout the course of Peter’s life, he found himself in a series of different situations that he could never have foreseen. Undoubtedly, the hardest time must have been the night that the guards came to arrest Jesus. Peter had already proclaimed that he would follow Jesus no matter what, but that very night Peter would face great regret. When the pressure was on Peter failed in a way that he would never have imagined was possible. He denied his relationship with Jesus three different times, then to add to his guilt Peter had to watch Jesus die alone on the cross. After the resurrection, Peter came face to face with Jesus and had to face the one whom he had failed. Like Peter, each one of us will experience times in our lives when we desperately need the Lord’s forgiveness. Today’s sermon is “How Did I End Up Here?” from John 21:15 – 19.
