Every truly great accomplishment requires a team effort. It is in the need for a unified team that makes accomplishing a task such a challenge. Nehemiah found this to be true as well. During his time, a situation arose in the Jewish community that threatened to destroy the unity of the people and stop the reconstruction of the walls. Forging unity on a team takes real work on the part of everyone involved. While unity takes work, it is an expectation that God has for the church. He wants believers to love one another and to work together to strengthen and grow the Kingdom of God. The title of the message is “Forging Unity,” from Nehemiah 5: 1 – 6.
