Christmas is a time most people associate with warm happy feelings. However, those who experienced the very first Christmas experienced some emotions that were neither warm nor happy. When the angel appeared to the shepherds they were afraid. One minute they were sitting in the dark watching the sheep and the next an angel appeared out of nowhere. The shock of the angel’s arrival was too much for them to handle. We want to make sure that we do not allow our fear to cause us to make foolish mistakes. The title for this sermon is “The Emotions of Christmas: Fear,” from Luke 2:8 – 15.
