Today week we will study about four young men; Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. These young men had been taken into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon. Once they arrived in Babylon they began to feel the pressure to conform to the culture around them, but these young men were determined to remain faithful to God. As believers, we may feel the same pressure to conform. We may even find that our culture has had a more powerful influence in shaping us than we realize. Like these four young men, we must decide whether we are going to follow God’s leadership for our lives or allow our culture to define how we live. The sermon today is from Daniel 1 and is titled, “Culture Shock.”
